The corridor extends from Trout Creek in South Lake Tahoe on U.S. 50 on the north end to the western edge of South Lake Tahoe on SR 89. The corridor also includes approximately 4.8 miles of U.S. 50 south from Echo Summit entry to the “Y” intersection of U.S. 50 and SR 89 in South Lake Tahoe and 4.6 miles of Pioneer Trail from Trout Creek to U.S. 50. The corridor interconnects the communities of South Lake Tahoe and Meyers and functions as an entry/exit route through the area for visitors. This corridor is also a major winter recreation corridor, including access to Luther Pass, Freel peak, and Big Meadows.
