The Infrared Trail Counter counts people — walkers, hikers, joggers, inline skaters, horseback riders, cyclists, etc. — on trails, paths and sidewalks. It senses and detects the infrared wavelength that people emit.
Counts bicycle and pedestrians together.
This location is located along the trail on the east side of Hwy 89 at the south end of Sugar Pine Point State Park
This location was installed and maintained by TRPA.
A new shared used path was completed at this location in 2019 extending to Meeks Bay. Counts prior to 2019 are considered "pre" construction and counts after 2019 are considered "post" construction.
